The Campus MTM College of Education is spread over about 12 kanals of land at Wusan Karhama, Tangmarg (New Campus), The College was founded in the year 2001, an apex institute of higher education in the locality. Its primary role is to provide learning, training and research facilities for pupil teachers. The College campus is located on the foothills of Afarwat, on the left side of Srinagar-Gulmarg road, barely six kilometers below world famous tourist place - Gulmarg. On the right side rests the world famous Saint Baba Payam ud Din Reshi (RA).
Accommodation:
The College has sufficient and built up accommodations which are well maintained and well decorated to took it worthy for the purpose. The descriptions of rooms in each building are designed as under:
B.Ed. / M.Ed. Teaching Block including three Classrooms, Main Library, Computer Lab., I.T. & Psychology Labs for multipurpose;
B.B.A./B.C.A./B.Com. Teaching Block including four Classrooms & Audio-Visual Lab. For multi purposes;
E.T.T.I. Block including two classrooms, Staff room & Science Laboratory for multipurpose.
The Description of classrooms is well planned, maintained, furnished and well lighted with fixed slide projectors. The classrooms in each building are desirably dimensioned to accommodate sufficient number of students in terms of the set statutes of the University:
B.Ed./M.Ed. Block – 20x30 = 3 CR;
BBA/BCA/B.Com Block - 20x30 = 4 CR
E.T.T.I. Block – 25x20 = 2 CR.
Recognition / Affiliation:
For imparting education and training leading to the award of one year Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.), the MTM College of Education (Education & Research) is recognized by the J&K State Government, Higher Education Department, Srinagar/Jammu for training its pupil teachers with effect from the academic year 2001. The College stands affiliated with the world famous university, The University of Kashmir, Srinagar, Kashmir (J&K-India) a duly UGC’s autonomous body. (university affiliated B.Ed. colleges). Besides, the college is also recognized by the same state Government for imparting training and education leading to the award of two years Elementary Teacher Training Education Certificate (ETTE) duloy recognized by the J&K State Board of School Education, Bemina, Srinagar (J&K) from the academic session 2011-12.
